Disarming a wanna be robber and holding more than one suspect at gun point until police arrived, we are learning more about the attempted robbery of a food delivery man.

Police reports show on the night on November 21st a 57 year old driver for Avanti's was making a stop at a home on East Republic Street. The number that called in the order said they would come outside.

That's when the driver said three men came out from behind the house. 20 year old Tzoriel Coats pointed a gun at him, when coats got close, he grabbed his arm and twisted Coats around to the ground, grabbed the weapon and sat on Coats. The driver pointed the gun at Coats and another juvenile suspect while another unidentified suspect threw a soda at him and ran off.

Sarah Wildbahn the head Krav Maga instructor at Creo Fit said their training teaches how to handle these scenarios.

"We attack the joints, we attack the eyes, we attack the groin , we use weapons if they're available." said Wildbahn "It's specifically designed that a smaller, weaker person can be effective against a stronger, larger opponent. We all know that in a fight size matters, strength matters, but Krav can really level that playing field."

They focus on simple steps designed with the goal of survival.

"So the first stage is situational awareness, trying to avoid being in that situation in the first place if you do see it developing get yourself out of that situation. Then the next thing you want to do is you want to address the highest threat first so you know if they do have a weapon, a gun or a knife, or something that's your primary goal to redirect or control the weapon, then you go into the attack, try to neutralize them and then you get out of there as soon as you can. " said Wildbahn

Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said in their situational awareness training they focus on the acronym *WIN* - What's Important Now. This allows you to best understand the scenario to know if you should run, hide, or in the worst case fight.

Coats is charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm as police said it was stolen. He is due in court on the 19th.
