Diesel Dick’s a complete loss after Thursday morning fire

UPDATE (10:30 A.M.) — Our news partner WJBC reports that Diesel Dick’s is a total loss after a Thursday morning fire engulfed the building.

Located at 508 N. Madison Street, the auto repair shop was fully engulfed around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, Bloomington Fire Public Information Officer Eric Davison, told WJBC.

He says firefighters were able to save neighboring buildings, including Starcrest Cleaners and a two-story apartment building.

“As we came in our focus was putting out the fire itself, but also maintain the other buildings,” said Davison.  “We keep water on the other buildings, then we maintained and exposed some of the walls to make sure no fire is getting inside, then went inside both buildings to make sure there is no smoke or damage.”
