Fire engulfs Monmouth Municipal Airport

UPDATE (9:45 A.M.) — Monmouth Fire Chief Casey Rexroat said crews were called to the fire at the Monmouth Municipal Airport at about 6 a.m. Friday.

Rexroat said there were 10 planes, valued at $750,000, when the fire occurred, but two planes were able to be saved by being manually pushed out of the hangar. No injuries were reported.

The fire was isolated to the main structure, which held the hangar and administration office.

Fire fighters were able to knock the fire out in 45 minutes. Investigations are ongoing by the Illinois State Fire Marshal to find the cause and how much damage was done

MONMOUTH (WEEK) — Warren County crews are on scene of a fire at the Monmouth Municipal Airport.

A large fire broke out Friday morning.
