PEORIA (WEEK) – Peoria firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision with possible entrapment Wednesday morning.
Firefighters arrived on scene at around 7:41 a.m. to the 8300 block of North Galena to two vehicles with heavy damage and air bag deployment, with one driver trapped, according to a release.
One patient was removed in under 10 minutes with the help of hydraulic extrication tools.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital by ambulance because of their injuries.
Peoria police shut down the north and southbound lanes of Galena Road momentarily to protect the rescue workers and civilians.
