PEORIA (WEEK) – The parent-teacher advisory committee of Peoria Public Schools met Monday night to talk about an array of topics.
The one garnering the most discussion was administrator walkthroughs.
Those walkthroughs would be part of giving feedback to principals, teachers and content in the classroom.
Superintendent Dr. Sharon Kherat addressed concerns about those walkthroughs, including the excessive amounts of monitoring.
“We have to be intentional and we have to be strategic – around monitoring and proving support and the only way we can do that is being in the buildings and working collaboratively for our principals,” she said.
Kherat said the district plans to follow through with the walkthroughs, but they don’t yet have a start date.
