PEORIA (WEEK) — A grand jury has indicted Jyair Williams, 26, in connection with a shooting last month that put two area schools on temporary lockdown.
The August 29th shooting in the 3100 block of N. Isbell Ave. sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, although his condition later improved to stable.
The next day, Peoria Police released the name of their suspect: 26-year-old Jyair Williams.
Two weeks later, Williams has been charged with three felonies, but he still has not been caught.
Tuesday, a Peoria County grand jury indicted Williams on one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
A warrant for Williams’ arrest has been issued.
Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous, and you should not approach him.
