MORTON (WEEK) – Pumpkin season has already begun in Morton, with the 53rd Morton Pumpkin Festival starting Wednesday.
There are over 30 special events throughout the festival, including the pumpkin pancake breakfast on Saturday, pumpkin decorating contests and even the pumpkin princess pageant.
Leigh Ann Brown, Executive Director of the Morton Chamber of Commerce, said in her three years of working the festival, it has changed and expanded.
“I started on our 50th, so our golden pumpkin year,” she said. “And so each year with a new theme we are able to really bring on new events and entertainment and menu items and a lot of different experiences.”
This year’s festival theme is luck of the pumpkins.
