Decatur officer’s retirement video goes viral

DECATUR — After 30 years on the job, an officer with the Decatur Police Department is hanging up his hat.

Officer Cory Barrows did the traditional “signing off” radio call from his cruiser, before turning to the camera, slightly teary-eyed, saying, “but first, I’m gonna cut loose!”

He then jumps out of his squad car and into a flawless “Footloose” two-step.

Barrows’ wife posted the video, saying “it’s been a great ride for 30 years, but now he’s footloose!”

The clip has since been shared thousands of times and by several international media outlets.
