Local Bloomington organization offers hope and healing through art classes

Today was moving day for an organization in Bloomington-Normal which also offered their first art class for the disabled and homeless.

Threshold of hope gives people the ability to express themselves through art. Funded only through donations their goal is to use art to help people heal.

Today was their first class at new location called ‘Inside Out Accessible Art’. For Mary Darling, painting has always been her escape.

“Sometimes i just can’t express what I’m going through i have an invisible disability so people don’t see what I’m going through so when i paint they say an picture is worth a thousand words well my paintings is my pure heart and soul in every art work I do,” said Painter at Threshold to Hope Mary Darling

Since Mary has been with threshold of hope, she’s been able to purchase her art desk by selling some of her paintings. Its something she is very proud of.
