Pekin police say incident at Derby Street is all clear

UPDATE (4:50 P.M.) — The Pekin Police Department released a statement saying they were called to the business at 1:01 p.m. Friday (July 19) for a man entering the business. The man and female in the business became involved in a domestic situation, according to the statement.

All employees as well as the female were able to leave the business, leaving the man inside. The Central Illinois Emergency Response Team, responded to the scene and did a search of the building, the release read.

The man was not found and has not yet been located. No one was injured and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE (4 P.M.) — The Pekin Police Department has given the all clear and said there was no threat to the public after they searched a business on Derby Street following a call to a domestic incident.

PPD spokesperson Billie Ingles said officers were called to the scene around 1 p.m. Friday (July 19) afternoon and set up a perimeter around Half Vaped at 1020 Derby St.

When officers did a search of the business they found no one inside.

 

PEKIN (WEEK) — Pekin police have surrounded a business on Derby Street in Pekin for a standoff with one male.

The suspect has barricaded himself inside Half Vaped at 1020 Derby St. and SWAT has arrived at the scene.

One female subject escaped, a Pekin Police Department spokesperson said.

The PPD were called to the scene for a domestic incident at Half Vaped, 1020 Derby St.
