Man who was shot in face over weekend now in stable condition

PEORIA (HOI) — A man who was taken to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the face over the weekend is now in stable condition, Peoria Police spokeswoman Amy Dotson said.

Dotson said the victim arrived at the hospital by a private vehicle in serious condition at 5:17 a.m. Saturday.

The incident took place on Richard Pryor Place with a vehicle was also struck by gunfire.

Two others were also shot Saturday morning with non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after the incident on Richard Pryor Place, Peoria Police responded to a shooting at the 1400 block of Broadway, when a victim arrived at an area hospital with a bullet graze wound to the torso.

At about 5:30 a.m., police found a shooting victim at the 1800 block of Westmoreland with a gunshot wound to the leg.

On Sunday morning, officers were called to 120 South Cedar in West Peoria at about 11:45 a.m., where they found a 26-year-old man injured. Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said Sunday the victim was expected to survive his injuries.
