Man robbed at gunpoint after using ATM in Peoria

PEORIA (WEEK) — After using an ATM in the 3400 block of North University, a Peoria man was reportedly surrounded and robbed at gunpoint.

According to a Peoria Police report, the victim had $50 and an iPhone stolen just after 3 p.m. on July 5 when his vehicle  was surrounded by a group of people as he was pulling away. One man in the group was holding a semi-automatic pistol. Others in the group went through the victim’s car and glove box.

According to the report, the victim said he was punched several times, resulting in a cut on his face, but did not receive any serious injuries.
