HENRY COUNTY, Ill. (WEEK) — A man who hit a semi head-on driving the wrong way on Interstate 74 was arrested for driving under the influence.
The Illinois State Police said Tyler Vanalsburg, 42, of Bettendorf, Iowa was heading west on I-74 in the eastbound lanes on Saturday morning in a white Chevy pickup truck. Vanalsburg struck a truck tractor head-on. The truck tractor crossed the median and caught on fire.
I-74 was shut down for two hours at mile marker 20 for cleanup. Both drivers suffered minor injuries. Vanalsburg was arrested for driving under the influence and driving the wrong way on the interstate.
