CHILLICOTHE, Ill. (WEEK) — Area police made 11 arrests at this year’s Summer Camp Music Festival at Three Sisters Park.
The Peoria Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group (PMEG) announced Wednesday that 11 felony arrests were made by the unit, in cooperation with the Illinois State Police and several other law enforcement agencies.
Seized drugs include 90 grams of cannabis, 41 grams of cannabis edibles, 8.13 grams of cocaine, 11.71 grams of ecstasy, 100.61 grams of ketamine, 14.11 grams of LSD and 6 hits of LSD, and 7191.10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
Three of the 11 arrests made during the Memorial Day weekend festival were Class X felonies. Around $5,550 was also seized.
From May 22-27, the Illinois State Police made numerous arrests around Three Sisters Park, including 254 speeding tickets, four DUI arrests, 50 distracted driving contacts, 39 seat belt or child safety restraint violations, and one firearm seizure. Police issued a grand total of 350 warnings and 327 citations.
A large contingent of police traditionally operate around Summer Camp every year. The music festival draws thousands of people from across the country every year.
