LEGO isn’t just for kids anymore. They’re legitimate artwork now on display in Peoria.
The newest exhibit at the Peoria Riverfront Museum is called the “Art of the Brick.”
Artist, Nathan Sawaya, has put together more than 100 works made exclusively from LEGO bricks of all colors. It takes up to more than 7,500 square ft. in the museum. He even did a rendition of the Mona Lisa.
“The ideas of invention and expression come together through a simple toy, a six sided block,” said Bill Conger, curator with the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
The exhibit will be on display all summer, through Sept. 2nd. The exhibit includes a hands-on section as well.
