Canton police continue cracking down on meth

CANTON, Ill. (WEEK) — A Canton man was arrested on meth charges after falling asleep behind the wheel in a gas station parking lot.

Canton police responded to the Casey’s General Store about 10 p.m. Wednesday after a man was found sleeping behind the wheel in the parking lot.

Police found Nathaniel Atchley, 28, with meth, Xanax, and meth-administering items. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Atchley was taken to the Fulton County Jail.

Two out-of-state residents were also arrested on meth charges in an unrelated case Thursday. Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at Lakeland Park around 11 p.m.

Lois Banks, 34, of South Carolina; and William Moses, 37, of Florida were both arrested on multiple charges after police found a mobile meth lab in the trunk of their vehicle. Both were taken to the Fulton County Jail.
