Pickleball players compete in B-Town Throwdown

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and hundreds of players already on the pickleball craze came to Bloomington for the annual B-Town Throwdown tournament.

The sport is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis, also known as ping pong.

Players were from Illinois, Missouri, Florida, Nevada, Michigan, Iowa and Indiana.

“It works out really great because we have a court that’s kind of set off to the side and we have four pickleball courts lined on that. They love the atmosphere, they love the great lighting and court surface that we provide for our tennis players, it’s a great match,” Evergreen Racquet Club General Manager Colleen Curran said.

April is National Pickleball Month.
