We’ve got a beautiful start to the weekend, but rain will return for the second half of the weekend.
Clear skies and light winds help drop overnight lows below freezing. Lows in the upper 20s with quiet conditions. Winds: light/variable.
Another beautiful day for central Illinois. Highs in the middle 50s with mostly sunny skies turning mostly cloudy late. Winds shift to the SSE around 5-10 mph.
Saturday night into Sunday:
Lows drop into the lower 40s with mostly cloudy skies and showers moving in. Rain likely after midnight into early Sunday morning.
On/off showers likely through Sunday evening. Best chance appears to be early Sunday morning and late afternoon into evening. Rain totals could be between a quarter and half-inch. Highs in the middle 50s with winds around 5-15 mph.
Don’t forget, folks in far northern parts of the state may be able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights Friday and Saturday night due to a geomagnetic storm. Here is a map of where folks might be able to see the phenomenon.
