CAUGHT ON CAM: Two armed men rob North Peoria Verizon store

***UPDATE: Peoria Police have released two pictures of suspects in the armed robbery of a Verizon store last Friday.

Police say they are still considered armed and dangerous.

 

Peoria, IL (WEEK) – Two black men wearing white surgical masks and blue gloves robbed a North Peoria Verizon store just after 7:30 p.m. Friday night.

Peoria police say the incident happened at the cellphone store located at 2521 W. War Memorial Drive.

According to Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, one of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The men took an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones.

The suspects fled the store in an E-Class White Mercedes Benz that was waiting outside the store. Police say a black man and woman were already in the getaway car. The suspects left the scene driving north on Hamilton.

Police say people should not approach the vehicle or suspects as they are still considered armed and dangerous.
