On Wednesday night, police said many of the break-in reports came from local fitness centers.

Police warned that these “smash and grabs” could continue into Thursday in any part of the city. They are asking the public to be on the lookout because they have not caught the culprit or culprits, saying:

“If you see anyone acting suspicious around cars in any parking lots please call 309-820-8888. Please get suspect description / video / or photograph while staying at a safe distance.”
