Morton native Travis Reinking was deemed competent for his Tennessee shooting case to continue.
Reinking is accused of killing four people and injuring four others at a Nashville-area Waffle House in April.
The competency ruling comes from the Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute. However, prosecutors in Nashville maintain this is not the same as being deemed competent to stand trial.
The district attorney’s office in Nashville said the next step is to present the case to a grand jury.
