Pritzker up by 20 points in new poll

Democrat J.B. Pritzker is maintaining his commanding lead over incumbent Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner in the latest polling.

A Reuters/Ipsos/UVA poll said Pritzker holds a 20-point lead over Rauner, 50-30. Sixty-two percent of respondents said they view both candidates as “traditional politicians.”

The economy and healthcare were ranked as the top issues for Illinois voters heading into the November elections. Illinoisans are tied on whether Democrats or Republicans have a better economic strategy, but nearly twice as many (53 percent) think Democrats have a better handle on healthcare versus Republicans (27 percent).

Also running are Libertarian Kash Jackson and Conservative Party candidate Sam McCann.

The poll was conducted Sept. 27-Oct. 7. To view full results, click here.
