McLean Republican Party Yearns Apology

The McLean County Republican Party  is looking for an apology from Democratic County Clerk Candidate Nikita Richards.

Previously, Richards said the current County Clerk Kathy Michael “broke the law” during the spring primary election.

GOP Chair Connie Beard said that Michael delayed the start of early voting because of a challenge on the statewide ballot.

Beard said Richards needs to admit her comments were not true.

“I suspect her message has not changed which is sad,” said Beard, “it’s a sad comment on the focus being on defaming an individual rather than the issues that the campaign should be working on.”

Michael and Richards are scheduled to appear in a candidate forum tomorrow night.

There will be a full recap tomorrow night at 10.
