Police release sketch based on skull found in Illinois River

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office has released a sketch of what a man whose skull and torso were found in the Illinois River may have looked like.

Last June, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office found a skull which washed up from the river near Kingston Mines. The Illinois State Police was able to match the skull to a torso found in the Illinois River in Schuyler County based on DNA evidence.

A forensic artist created a drawing of what the man may have looked like. Foul play is suspected in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Hoffman at (309) 657-5532 or Lt. Watkins at (309) 573-2820.
