Vandals are wanted now at a local cemetery for some widespread destruction.
This is Springdale cemetery in Peoria founded before the Civil War in 1855
But earlier this month, May 20 in the afternoon, two young adults knocked over 40 headstones.
The damage is estimated at $10,000
A witness was so disturbed she took some photos of the suspects from a distance after hearing a loud boom while on her bike ride.
"That’s extremely sad, very upsetting. Again I think I use the word outrage. I am absolutely outraged about this. It makes no sense. I can’t imagine it’s a fun thing to tip over markers," said cemetery manager Mike Matuszak also says some of the headstones were actually destroyed.
Police in Peoria are working this case too and do have the photos.
