Lee Hall

This is my 33rd year of working on TV in Peoria. The first 32 years were spent at WEEK-TV. I started there as an intern in 1984 and was promoted to Sports Director in 1988. In August, 2016 I started as Sports Director for HOI News.  I’ve covered some memorable events over the years; Bradley’s Sweet 16 run in 2006, Illinois’ trip to the NCAA Basketball final in ’05, Cubs playoff games in 1989 and 2003, the White Sox in the 2005 World Series and the Cardinals World Series appearances in 1985, 2004 , 2006 and 2014.

During my tenure at WEEK-TV, I’ve called play-by-play of Bradley Basketball,  Peoria Chiefs baseball, Rivermen hockey and Pirates football and hosted coaches shows for Bradley and Illinois State men’s basketball.   I have done extensive work with the IHSA TV Network since 1994 as a sideline reporter/studio host and play-by-play announcer in basketball, football, baseball, softball and track and field.  Calling state title games for Peoria High and LeRoy in basketball, Metamora and Central Catholic in football were special thrills!

I am a graduate of Illinois State University and Academy of Our Lady/Spalding Institute, where I was co-captain of the baseball team with Yankees manager Joe Girardi. We have combined for 4 World Series rings!

I am the proud father of four and proud grandfather of four more! I recently celebrated my 30th anniversary on the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run. I wrote a book about that event titled, "Running for Their Lives."   My other passion is music, performing as an Elvis tribute artist and with my country band, Lee Haw!
